Here is how my day ended -
I do not have any problem with asking for assistance/help for others. If the answer happens to be "No", I do not see it nor take it as a personal rejection. BUT no and here, BUT I do have a VERY HARD, DIFFICULT time asking for something for me. From asking to use a restroom in a location where I am not spending money, but am having an emergency. I asked once at Baylor College of Medicine was told "No, go outside." I went and used their restroom anyways has I had already started to soil my pants. I was arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest and spent five days in jail. That was just one time. I am feeling very empowered lately, so many things are going great for me and The Houston Walk. I am understanding / coming to terms with some older issues. So I felt it was time to go again and ask for something for me. It is VERY IMPORTANT to me that I always be address by the name that I identify with. That I feel is me and that is Patrick (I do cut some slack here folks but I really do prefer Patrick) The name on my birth certificate and Texas ID Card is (do not tell a soul you hear) Carl Patrick McIlvain. Yes, I agree a very proud and noble name and I am C. Patrick McIlvain if anything. CPatrick McIlvain would work for me too.
ALL of my forms of ID are issued as C. Patrick from my SS Card, Veterans ID card, voter registration, METRO (our public buss), So today I went to the Houston Volunteers Lawyers / Veterans Legal Initiative (hell I even went and got recertified for food stamps (I get $16.00 a month) so that I would be eligible for pro-bono work. During the interview session to see if this free program will assist you - I was asked why I wanted this done and I said due to my mental illness (now, please keep in mind that the gentleman who is interviewing is a degreed law school lawyer - he said, "You sound very intelligent to me." My reason was not considered important enough for them to use their money. I was told that that was NOT the k

Mayday mayday! The Great Dinner Dude Mystery: What happened to the yummy water? Many of you came into our store front today and noticed one of our legendary items missing... OUR WATER! That's right, our vase is gone. Cracked. Useless. Thrown away to the bottom of...well to the bottom of the trashcan to be quite honest. This morning when we were preparing to make water, we noticed a huge crack on the side. Where did it come from? We don't know. Who did it? We don't know. When will we have water again? We. Just. Don't. Know!!! Hopefully we will have something refreshing on Monday but until then- stay tuned for the startling TDD Mystery conclusion.
